What is the time frame for renting a property in Dubai?

Most properties can be available to move into within 1 to 2 weeks. However, as the tenant you are first required to have your residency visa and Emirates ID in place to allow registration of the contract with Ejari which is required to process utility connections and move in permits.

What is Ejari?

EJARI means ‘My Rent’ in Arabic. It offers full protection of rights to all parties within the tenancy agreement. It ensures these rights are recognized, upheld, and enforced by all Government agencies.

It is also one of the required documents to sponsor any family members and dependents.

What upfront costs are required to rent a property in Dubai?

Initially the rental payment plus a 5% Security Deposit & 5% agency fee is required.

What is the DEWA housing fee?

DEWA (Dubai Electricity & Water Authority) is the service provider for water & electricity in Dubai. When renting a property in Dubai, 5% of your annual rent is required to be paid to DEWA as a housing fee. This amount is divided by 12 and added to your monthly consumption for ease.

Can I covert my current driving license to a UAE driving license?
